The Aug W. Smith building was built in 1926 for Augustus Wardlaw Smith’s store. Smith relocated his store from Abbeville to Spartanburg in 1901 and then operated in this location for over 55 years, until closing in 1981. The building has been revitalized to host retail and apartments.
