The Austin-Craig-Laney house. Built in 1858 by lawyer Aaron Austin. Austin married Chesterfield native Margaret Jane Craig. Union soldiers attempted to burn the house in 1865, but a slave extinguished the fire and the house was spared. Margaret gifted the home to Mr. and Mrs. George Kershaw Laney as a wedding present in 1903

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) designated a gymnasium be built for the school, and in 1933 the gym, built of local stones, was completed. The building is now used as a wedding venue

This is the three-story, 15,637 square foot Katherine Hall in Ware Shoals. The iconic building, built in 1913, has served as the social and cultural hub of the town. The Beaux Arts architectural style building includes a 500-seat auditorium that has the ability to provide performing arts space. The building is in the process of being renovated and will serve as the Ware Shoals Town Hall

Foster’s Tavern was built by Anthony Foster, with construction beginning in 1801 and completing in 1808. Foster’s Tavern housed John C. Calhoun and Bishop Asbury on their travels through the area
