
The Thomas Walker Huey House built by Huey in 1847-48. Huey was a prominent nineteenth-century merchant, planter, and politician. Huey produced cotton on 2500 acres using slave labor. In addition to producing cotton, Huey was a businessman and operated a general store, sawmill, flour mill, and gristmill. Huey was also elected to the State Senate three times.
