The Fair Forest Hotel was built in 1924–1926. The building was financed by the local Young Men’s Business League, raising $112,700 to build the hotel. The hotel is named after the Fairforest Creek which is where much of the early Union County settlers lived. The hotel was designed by H. Olin Jones of Greenville.
