
The Juxa Plantation was built ca 1828. Isaac Gregory family purchased this property in 1776. The property was named after Isaac’s great-grandfather Girard Juxa Gregory. The Gregory’s farmed Indigo and it is said they owned 112 slaves. The Gregory family owned the plantation until sometime after the civil war. It is claimed that the ghost of Jehu Gregory can be found on the grounds of the plantation. The home is currently for sale.
