The Coker and Rogers Store was built ca. 1860 as an enlargement of the 1832 store that was here. The Coker General Store was established in 1828 by Caleb Coker, Jr. and Eli Gregg. This was the oldest mercantile in Darlington County that was continuously owned by one family. The store operated until 1963.
