Yesterday, Flint Hill Fire Department (Fort Mill) had a fire truck totaled after an 18 wheeler crashed in the parked fire truck that was protecting an active accident scene. Only the driver of the 18 wheeler was injured.
The Move over laws were originated in the United States after a South Carolina paramedic, James D. Garcia, was struck and injured at an accident scene in Lexington in 1994. South Carolina’s version of the Move Over Law(SC 56-5-1538) passed in 1996, and was revised in 2002.
