The Old Bank of Mountville was built ca. 1911. The Bank of Mountville was established between June of 1911 and January 1912 (depending on the source). J. Y. Bryson was the President and C. Morton Fuller was the Cashier (later becoming an assistant state bank examiner). A report by the federal reserve in 1920, says the bank was not on-par and checks drawn on the bank could not be cashed. After 1923, there is no mention of this bank existing, so it likely failed around that time. The Mountville Grange moved in to the building in 1948.
