Fort Hill

Fort Hill, built in 1803, was the home of John C. Calhoun, (former VP of the United States) during the last 25 years of his life. Calhoun’s daughter Anna, asked her husband, Thomas Clemson, to use her home and land for a state agricultural college upon her passing.  This would ultimately become Clemson University
