This Neoclassical home in Ridgeway was built around 1910 for Charles Wray, a prominent merchant and planter in Ridgeway. The home faces the railroad tracks. Mr. and Mrs. Wray died in a terrible car vs train accident in July of 1919 when their automobile was hit a Southern Railroad train near Smallwood. 10 year old Eugene McCarrel of Concord, NC also died as a result of the crash.
