Before the grocery stores we know today were common, small grocers like Geddings Grocery, served their communities. This is another building that has very little historical documentation.

Exploring the towns and history of South Carolina
Hi Chris
This store belonged to my Uncle John Geddings, from Wedgefield. My father , (Johns brother) was Russell Jackson Geddings; another brother, Sidney Geddings, was a Sumter County Sheriff. There was also a little restaurant inside, with home cooking.
The last time I remember going there was about 1955, on a visit to see Uncle Sid…we lived in Charlotte.
