Smyrna United Methodist Church – Lugoff

The Smyrna United Methodist Church near Lugoff was found in 1810. The church was built by slaves in 1811. The original wood of the first church was repurposed into the current alter. The history of the Smyrna UMC implies that the current structure is mostly made up of the original wood.

  1. Hello, I recently mailed you a letter regarding my genealogy research and several Bowens family members that were buried at Smyrna Lugoff church according to their birth certificate but I could not find to confirm. I think I left the email out of the letter. Thank you
