Chappell’s Store by the Jenkinsville Post Office is a reminder of the past on the state highways. I believe this was run by Douglas Chappell (Earl Douglas Chappell) and by his father Charles Douglas Chappell. Charles was listed as the Jenkinsville Postmaster in 1883 and back then many rural stores (which he also had during that time frame) also served as post offices.
