The Simons Body Works building in Columbia was operated by Robert Lunce Simons between 1929 and 1940. Simons was a Tuskegee Institute graduate and a disabled veteran. Interestingly, the building is only listed as being built in 1940, but there are pictures dated 1930 of the building and the oldest deed was from 1925. The only advertisements for the business I could locate were in 1940.
