Johnston Mural – International Peach Exchange

The Johnston Mural, also known as the Peach Exchange, originated from a 1987 proposal to Johnston Town Council by Columbia painter, Ralph Waldrop. Waldrop originally painted on the wall the likenesses of six distinguished Johnston citizens. In 2001, Waldrop added images of four more distinguished citizens to the wall. April Abel Long, 1987 Miss South Carolina USA, has been the only person to have still been living at the time they were placed on the mural.
