Charleston Light, also known as Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse

Completed in 1962, the Charleston Light was the last major lighthouse constructed by the US Government. The first lighthouses on Sullivan’s Island were built in 1848 consisted of lanterns on 2 poles that were raised at dusk and lowered at dawn. 2 lighthouses were used on Sullivan’s Island until 1899.
