Originally the Old Town Plantation overseer’s home, this house was built around 1840. When the main home was burned by Union troops in 1865 during the Civil War, the overseer’s home then became the property’s primary residence

The Legare Waring House was built ca. 1840 as the Old Town Plantation overseer’s home. When the main home was burned by Union troops in 1865 during the Civil War, the overseer’s home became the property’s primary residence.⁠
