The Carnegie Free Library, built 1913-1914 as one of 14 built in SC with funding from the Carnegie Foundation. The library is a one-story over raised basement red brick Classical Revival building constructed according to the designs of Arthur W. Hamby, of Columbia. In 1937 the original structure was doubled in size by a rear addition. The library closed in 1972 and became a county administration building
